telling the teacher during prayer request time that he would like to pray for the frogs. (this is actually true, he very much likes frogs and bugs, which leads into his next week) After VBS week, Owen attended a five day bug camp at Springbrook Nature Center. Bug camp allowed him to learn about something very close and precious to his all boy heart, BUGS. Owen also attended
two birthday parties for his cousins this month and is being taught by his apparently qualified parents how to ice skate in preparation for hockey this fall. We have been taking him several times weekly and he is doing very well, going slowly however, is not something he is interested in. If you have not been ice skating in a while, I highly recommend going it is actually an excellent thing to do as a family.
Ashton continues to execute and finely tune her dramatic acting skills, and we are quite certain that someday she will win an Oscar. In other words our daughter is almost two and tends to have periodic breakdowns of apocalyptic proportions, but upon locating her pacifier and convincing her that she does not need to be standing, sitting, throwing, or jumping in some dangerous manner, all calm and peace is restored to the Kremer house. All kidding aside Ashton is a beautiful little girl, that just happens to be coming into her 2nd birthday at the end of September. Ashton absolutely loves jewelry, shoes, dresses and really gets excited about pageant queens that are all dressed up. I find it really remarkable that children have an inherent desire at such a young age to be so girl like or boy like, it really goes against what the mainstream media tries to make us believe in alot of ways.
And now on to our curly, dark haired little people magnet... Grace.
Grace has been coughing and wheezing for seven weeks, with what has been either a nasty cold virus or the beginnings of some type of respiratory issue. After putting her on amoxycyllin, and using a nebulizer for several weeks, we finally took her to Children's hospital for a second opinion. The course of action is heavier more frequent doses in the nebulizer, Albuterol & Pulmicort and Prevacid to help sooth her acid reflex.... it seems to be helping. Grace has had a busy month visiting the doctor for several chest x-rays, testing for Cystic Fibrosis, and a couple urgent care visits, but it does seem to be slowly improving. Grace is a very vibrant, happy little baby girl who really seems to take life in stride and seems quite capable of dealing with adversity.
Dad, Mom, Owen and Ashton went to the Minnesota State Fair on Saturday August 25th, with Uncle Craig and Aunt Jody. (Grace spent the day with Grandma Irene, good thing because about 185, 000 people attended the fair that day) SEE PICS BELOW:
