We're back from our annual "Good Bye to Summer" vacation we take to Grand Marais, MN. We stay right on the shore of Lake Superior. It's absolutely beautiful. It was very relaxing and I'm bummed that is over.
This year we were accompanied by Gramma, Kari, Kayla, Jody and Craig. We left on September 14th and returned on September 18th, not nearly enough time if you ask me.
The first day I went on a hike with Kari, Kayla, Jody, Wayne, Owen and Ashton. It was a very peaceful hike. After the hike we did some shopping in town. Wayne took Owen and Kayla fishing later that afternoon, while Ashton and Grace napped.
The next day we drove up the Gun Flint Trail in hopes of seeing a moose, but all we seen was a red fox. At the top of the trail we ate at the little cafe next to Gull Lake. Wayne said it was the best mushroom and swiss burger he has ever had!
On our last full day we took the kids to a park and then went into town and bought some paints and paint brushes. We went back to our cabin and the kids painted rocks they had found early that day. They really enjoyed it.
Later that day Wayne and Kari took Owen fishing. Gramma and I relaxed at the cabin while the girls napped.
Now we're back, and I have a TON of laundry. Ick :(
Back to the "rat race", taking Owen to preschool, skating and hockey practice 3x a week, cooking and cleaning, laundry laundry laundry...
