Wayne to the rescue! The other day he saved this turtle from getting smashed by a car. Usually when Wayne rescues turtles he will bring them home for Owen to "play" with. Mostly Owen just let's them swim in our kiddy pool for the day, but when we saw the size of this one there was no way we could keep it in our pool. We let it go and it went down into the shallow pond in our front yard. Then today it was back. It spent the entire day trying to get into our backyard! I think it was trying to get into the marshy area in the corner of our lot.
I did some research and found out that it is a Blanding's Turtle.
